Three Questions to Transform a Year
Looking Back and Moving Forward: 2024 Highlights and 2025 Focus
Inspired by Olympic gold medalist Lanny Bassham, I use the following three questions to reflect on and improve my yearly performance.
What went well?
What did I learn?
What can I improve?
Let me lead by example and do this exercise in this newsletter issue. As you already know, the world needs more demonstration, not just information. Let us be the change!
What went well in 2024?
Published a book
Appeared as a guest on 25 podcasts
Received 300+ book reviews on Amazon
Launched a cohort course to help people achieve their goals
Hosted the first cohort with 17 participants from 6 countries
What did I learn in 2024?
One-on-one coaching doesn’t scale
People enjoy learning in a community
I enjoy group coaching and teaching courses
Many people struggle to achieve their personal goals
Focusing more on my cohort courses is a great direction moving forward.
What can I improve in 2025?
Focus on one cohort course and dedicate all my energy to it.
Align my content strategy with the course Beyond Your Limits.
Establish a rhythm and season for cohort courses.
Start promoting courses occasionally on LinkedIn and through my newsletter.
Offer a free lightning session to provide a taste of the 7-week course.
Now it’s your turn to reflect on these three questions:
What went well for you in 2024?
What did you learn in 2024?
What can you improve in 2025?
PS: I’m doing a 45-minute lightning talk on goals on January 11th at 7 a.m. Pacific Time. This is a free session offered on Maven, and I’d love to invite you to join live. You can register here. See you there!
